Privacy notice
How we look after your information and your pet's records.
Who we are
Home Vet Nurse ("we", "us") is a mobile veterinary nursing service covering Glasgow, Dumbartonshire, Lanarkshire and Ayrshire. We are responsible for the personal information described below. You can contact us at info@homevetnurse.co.uk or on 07949 186871.
What we collect
- Your name, address, phone number and email address.
- Your pet's details, such as name, species, breed, age and medical history, and notes and records from our visits.
- Details of your bookings, enquiries and messages to us.
- Payment records. We don't store card details ourselves.
- Basic website usage information (see "Cookies and analytics" below).
Why we use it
We use your information to book and carry out visits, care for your pet, keep proper nursing records, take payment, contact you about your appointments, and meet our professional and legal obligations. Our lawful bases are performing our agreement with you, our legitimate interests in running a safe and professional nursing service, and legal obligation. We only send marketing if you've agreed to it, and you can opt out at any time.
Who we share it with
We don't sell your information. We share it only where needed:
- With your vet, when we share our notes after visits.
- With the services that help us run Home Vet Nurse: Calendly (online booking and appointment emails), Netlify (website hosting and our enquiry form), Pro Nurse (our veterinary management system, where visit records are kept) and our payment providers.
- With the authorities or our regulator, if the law or professional rules require it.
How we keep it safe
Records are held electronically in secure, password-protected systems, and access is limited to the people who need it to care for your pet. We keep your pet's clinical and visit records for six years after their last visit, then securely delete them. We keep contact details for marketing only until you ask us to stop. If the law or our professional insurance requires us to keep something for longer, we keep it for that period.
Cookies and analytics
Our website uses Google Analytics and the Meta (Facebook) Pixel to understand how people use the site and to measure our advertising. These may set cookies and collect information such as pages visited and the device you use. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it where we're not required to keep it, object to or restrict how we use it, and ask for it to be moved to someone else. Contact us and we'll respond within one month.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
